Tell Mary Lou Something Can't Be Done, Then Stand Back and Watch Her Make it Happen

Anyone who knows Mary Lou knows that she is a loyal animal activist. So when Mary Lou learned that there was a chance to bring a branch of the Humane Society to her area, she not only stepped up to help, she became the treasurer on the original board of directors and then knocked on every door she could find. In the end, she was able to help raise more than $100 thousand dollars to open the facility. All this while she was working full time traveling the country as the national director of sales for a software company and helping to physically build a new church in her community. For her efforts with the Humane Society, she was given a founder’s award for her enthusiasm and perseverance. It’s easy to see that Mary Lou not only meets challenges, she seeks them out, finds solutions and makes positive things happen.

Mary Lou likes to keep active and that includes spending time on her boat or going bicycling with her three dogs, Lucky, Roper and Katie.

Dogged Determination

If there is one word that can describe Mary Lou Clark, it’s “determined.” In every instance in her life, she has embodied a spirit that leaves people wondering if there is anything that can stop her. She has always been the type of person who doesn’t accept “no” for an answer—she won’t rest until she has explored every opportunity and giving up is not an option for her. If it takes knocking on every door to accomplish her goals, she’ll get it done.

Energy—Personified

The story of Mary Lou’s work with the Humane Society is more than a heartwarming example of what Mary Lou can accomplish. It highlights the kind of person she is, deep down. When most people meet her, they see her energy and her determination, but that only scratches the surface. Her friends and family will tell you that when she believes in something, she will stick with it and do whatever she can to achieve great results—all with her trademark smile on her face.

Mary Lou was practically born walking and talking, so when she isn’t working to make her community better, she remains extremely active. She loves the water, so skiing, boating and fishing are big hobbies for her. She still donates to animal charities, but needs to keep her distance from the shelters or she’ll likely bring home a new dog every time.
